FAQ

1. I’ve never been in therapy before! What should I expect?

Been there! Making the decision to begin therapy can be scary. Whether you are struggling with emotional difficulties, life transitions, or general mental health concerns, therapy can be extremely helpful.

At the current moment, all sessions at Tighe Therapy Group are 100% virtual, making it easily accessible for all. Individual Sessions are 45 minutes in length unless otherwise specified. You will receive paperwork via the portal before your intake session to fill out so I have your background information.

I am an out-of-network provider, so I do not accept insurance. I can accept payments from HSA/FSA accounts, as well as provide you with superbills that you are able to submit to your insurance company to possibly receive a percentage of each bill returned to you!

2. What does being an out-of-network provider mean for me as the client? What do I need to do?

Great question! As a client, utilizing your health insurances out of network benefits can assist you in paying for health care services with providers that either are not in network with your specific insurance company, or do not accept insurance at all. If you are unsure about your out-of-network benefits, I suggest calling your insurance company and asking the following questions:

a. â€‹Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network benefits?

b. What is the deductible for mental health benefits?

c. Is there a limit on the number of sessions my plan will cover?

3. What do you specialize in?

I specialize in, but am not limited to, clients who have/are experiencing trauma & anxiety. Anxiety & trauma are by far two of the most prevalent mental illnesses in our modern world. I have been trained to help you develop coping skills, manage symptoms, and identify and confront the root cause of your anxiety/trauma. Additionally, I specialize in clients who have had a Traumatic Brain Injury.

4. Do you have any book recommendations I can explore in the meantime before I make the commitment to begin therapy?

OF COURSE! Here are a few books I have read myself and found so helpful in my own healing journey:

Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Health from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents

Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find and Keep Love

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom

It Didn’t Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle
